Now that you have chosen your LUHO (luxury) jewelry, you need to make sure it is well taken care of. 

 

At Home Cleaning Recommendation

When cleaning Sterling Silver or Gold we recommend to be as least abrasive on your jewelry as possible. For simple at home cleaning use a mile soap and water to gently clean your piece and pat it dry. Use the polishing wipe provided with every piece to do a final wipe and shine.

Sterling Silver 

Pure 100% Sterling Silver would be far to pliable to be worn as a daily piece of jewelry. This is why you often find 925, 950 or 999 Silver Jewelry. At LUHO we use American and Italian sourced 925 Sterling Silver for all our jewelry chains. 

 

What is the difference between Gold Toned, Gold Color, Gold Plated, Vermail, Gold Filled and Solid Gold?

For starters we do not sell any fake gold toned or gold color jewelry.

Gold Plated 

Gold Plated jewelry is generally sterling silver or brass that has been electroplated with a thin layer of gold onto it - generally less than 0.05%. Often Gold Plated jewelry that tarnishes quickly is made in fast fashion factories that make it with less than 0.01 - 0.03% gold plating, which can cause it to tarnish even faster. 

Gold Vermeil

Gold Vermeil is the first step into achieving a quality piece of daily wear jewelry that will stay just as beautiful as it was on day one if taken care of properly. Vermeil is a minimum of 2x thickness of Gold Plating and is often done over Sterling Silver or Brass. You will have less issues with gold tarnishing or wearing off the pieces as quickly as long as you take care of it over time. 

Gold Filled

Gold Filled Jewelry is made of an outer layer of 5% Gold. This is the best bang for your buck as far as quality material for cost, as well as having a solid piece that will last for years (up to decades or a lifetime if taken well care of) in your collection and can be passed on. 

Solid Gold

Solid Gold is exactly what it sounds like, solid gold. This is the optimum material for elegance, quality and absolute LUHO (LUXURY) lifestyle. 

Solid Gold Jewelry ranges from 10k - 24k. The range depends on the amount of metal mixed into the gold to allow it to be more sturdy when worn. Pure Solid Gold would be to pliable and soft to be worn as a daily piece of jewelry.
